5 Signs You Need Our Product

5 Signs You Need Our Product

These days, manufacturers get ahead of competitors and gain market share by rapidly introducing high quality customer-driven products. You are constantly being asked to rapidly increase customer satisfaction, while simultaneously lowering process and product costs, with existing people resources.

Therefore, a quality leader has to utilize internal quality team resources effectively, meet customers expectations, improve internal efficiencies, do more with existing resources, and easily comply with legal requirements as your organization scales.

The following are signs which show that your organization definitely need an electronic quality management system (eQMS)!

1. Suboptimal use of people resources

There are extensive costs to maintain a company without eQMS. With the traditional QMS, the time of the employees gets invested in managing the documents and files. Without an eQMS, a company cannot focus on its core objectives and activities, and therefore, this may increase its expenses.

2. Lack of communication & collaboration between departments

When an organization doesn’t have an eQMS, day to day operations across teams are manual and inefficient. Quality processes such as updating documented information, non-conforming product root cause, investigations, corrective  actions, managing risk, require collaboration across teams. Our eQMS quality management system plays a critical role in linking various departments of your organization in order to collaborate to improve quality.

3. Multiple locations and remote workers

The modern workforce requires employees from all over the world, in various office locations, and those who work from home, to collaborate. Our eQMS ensures that your teams access information in real-time, fostering teamwork and transparency, as colleagues anywhere in the world collaborate on quality processes.

4. Regulatory compliance is not automated

An eQMS system is a must if your business wants to comply with regulations! Being compliant can be a challenge for any company. Not only do you need to bring in an auditor, you need an easy way to keep the auditor focused on the processes and products that are in scope of the audit. . Our eQMS includes automated compliant processes and granular per-record permission, enabling an auditor to swiftly audit without your organization’s other products or processes being included in the audit, causing unnecessary confusion.

5. Lack of integration of various systems

Over time, the number of systems, tools, and spreadsheets to track the business’s quality processes tends to grow. There is an addition of different approaches to fill the requirements of a business, and it is the responsibility of a company to manage the growth of other systems. Because of the lack of integration, the efficiency is reduced, and additional costs are incurred, which include infrastructure fees, IT staff, and an increase in the volume of helpdesk activity.

Conclusion

Every organization works to standards, be it the regulatory or the internal expectations or requirements. In order to manage these, an effective eQMS is necessary, and therefore, Origami has been helping organizations to achieve their quality and operational excellence. Having users worldwide, Origami can help your organization become more effective, streamlined, and gain a competitive advantage because our platform is so agile,  it can provide the adjusted framework for any organization and that uniqueness will be reflected in our eQMS, all while demonstrating conformance to standards.

Why AI Automation Still Needs Structure – The Case for Centralized Platforms Like Origami

Why AI Automation Still Needs Structure – The Case for Centralized Platforms Like Origami

Picture this: Your team’s buzzing with excitement over a new AI agent that promises to streamline workflows—think automated customer follow-ups or real-time project updates. You plug it into Slack, hook it up with Zapier, and sprinkle in some ChatGPT magic. A week later, you’re drowning in duplicate tasks, missing data, and a compliance headache because the AI pulled the wrong info from a siloed spreadsheet. Sound familiar?

AI is a game-changer, no doubt. But here’s the catch: it’s only as good as the structure it’s built on. Without a centralized platform to keep everything in check, even the smartest AI can turn into a liability. That’s where tools like Origami come in—a no-code powerhouse that acts as the backbone for data governance, automation orchestration, and AI-readiness. Let’s unpack why, in this era of advanced automation, structure isn’t just nice to have—it’s non-negotiable.

The Hidden Cost of Fragmented Automation

Businesses today are like kids in a candy store with AI tools: Slack bots for notifications, Zapier for quick integrations, ChatGPT plugins for on-the-fly answers. It’s fast, it’s flexible, and it feels like progress—until it isn’t. Fragmented systems lead to fragmented results. Sales sees one version of a customer record, support sees another, and your AI agent? It’s guessing half the time, risking errors or worse, compliance slip-ups.

Take a healthcare provider automating patient intake. An AI chatbot might nail the conversation, but if it’s pulling from disconnected sources—one database for appointments, another for patient history—it could double-book slots or miss critical HIPAA-protected data. The result? Chaos that costs time, trust, and potentially legal penalties.

This is where centralized platforms like Origami shine. With its modular entities and records, you get a single source of truth. Data stays consistent, permissions stay tight (down to the field level!), and your AI knows exactly where to look. No more guesswork—just results.

AI Doesn’t Replace Structure – It Thrives on It

There’s a myth floating around: AI is so smart it can “figure things out” without much help. The reality? AI agents—like ChatGPT or multi-modal assistants—need clean, organized data to avoid hallucinations or bad decisions. Think of AI as a brilliant chef: it can whip up a masterpiece, but only if the kitchen’s stocked with the right ingredients, labeled, and ready to go.

Origami sets the table perfectly. Its visual workflow automation lets you define triggers (e.g., “new lead added”), conditions (e.g., “priority = high”), and actions (e.g., “send SMS to sales manager”). Add in ChatGPT integration, and you’ve got AI populating fields or prioritizing tasks—all within a secure, structured environment. For example, a marketing team could use Origami to track campaign leads, with AI suggesting follow-up actions based on real-time data, all logged for accountability. Structure doesn’t stifle AI; it supercharges it.

Origami: The Central Brain for Scalable Automation

Imagine Origami as your organization’s automation command center. Its granular permissions mean only the right people see the right data—think a sales rep editing a lead’s status but not its budget field, reserved for managers. Custom views (Kanban for projects, maps for logistics) keep teams aligned, while external API support pulls live data into records—like stock levels or weather updates—keeping AI decisions current.

A project management use case paints the picture: Tasks live in an entity, linked to a project record via instance relations. An AI workflow spots a missed deadline, updates the status, and notifies the team—all tracked in Origami’s audit log. Compare that to a patchwork of tools where updates get lost between Trello and email. Origami ties it together, scaling automation without the mess.

Why AI-Native Doesn’t Mean Chaos

“AI-native” is the buzzword du jour—tools built from the ground up with AI in mind. But native doesn’t mean standalone. As autonomous agents evolve (think process managers juggling schedules or assistants drafting contracts), they’ll need a centralized hub to read/write data safely and collaborate with humans. Origami’s webforms, dashboards, and reporting tools bridge that gap, letting AI interact with structured inputs while humans stay in the loop.

Consider a retail chain rolling out an AI-driven inventory bot. Without a platform like Origami, it might over-order stock based on outdated sales data from a random CSV. With Origami, the bot taps into a centralized entity, validates stock levels via API, and triggers a restock workflow—human-approved, of course. Chaos averted, efficiency gained.

The Future: AI and Centralized Platforms Go Hand-in-Hand

Here’s the forward-looking truth: by 2025, AI agents will handle more complex tasks—multi-modal decisions, cross-department workflows, you name it. But they’ll falter without a structured backend. Origami’s not just keeping up; it’s paving the way. Its no-code design means non-techies can build workflows, while its robust features (data validation, conditional UI, audit trails) ensure AI plays nice with compliance and scale.

For business leaders, this is the takeaway: AI automation isn’t about replacing structure—it’s about leveraging it. Platforms like Origami turn fragmented experiments into cohesive strategies, making your organization AI-ready without the growing pains.

Conclusion: Structure Is Your Competitive Edge

AI’s potential is limitless, but only if you give it the foundation to succeed. Centralized platforms like Origami aren’t relics of the past—they’re the key to scalable, secure, and responsible automation. Whether you’re a startup juggling growth or an enterprise taming complexity, structure isn’t a burden; it’s your edge. Ready to see how Origami can transform your automation game? Dive in and take control—because even the smartest AI needs a steady hand.

5 Key Benefits of Low-Code Development Platform for CIO

5 Key Benefits of Low-Code Development Platform for CIO

Today, we can see how low-code and no-code solutions are rapidly becoming more and more popular. Everyone will soon be capable of building an application for their views. The basic concept behind a low-code platform is to enable anyone to create tools or features with no need to know programming languages.

I’ve recently had the pleasure to discuss the benefits Origami provides with one of our enterprise customer’s CIO. Her team has been building new applications and replacing existing ones with Origami for the last year. I’ve received insight that was very interesting for me, which echoed what I’ve heard from several other CIOs, and gave me the wisdom to write this post.

After a few years in the market, our teams had a chance to provide solutions to organizations from several industries: including medical devices, pharma, real estate, and venture capital. What’s even more innovative, it makes it possible for the non-technical corporate customers, or the “citizen developers,” to construct their applications. The low code system allows business teams to create apps from the ground up and has received much attention.

You may take total leverage and include modern business applications developed on low-code platforms to match your needs. These platforms revolutionize applications by empowering those who work closely with consumers to deliver services and unforgettable experiences.

Low Code Platform for CIO -Chief Information Officer

Many CIOs worldwide are very enthusiastic about bringing Low Code to organizational spaces and usually believe that implementing a low code solution will increase business performance and save a ton of time while addressing the resource shortage. Our solution can help CIOs bring a digital transformation within various departments. It also has the potential to simplify the product and software development teams.

Companies may rapidly create digital solutions using low-code technologies without writing even one piece of code. The low code platforms have become the upcoming big trend, with Gartner forecasting that by 2023, low code will take up to sixty-five percent of all SaaS development.

It seems that the needs that come up to many CIOs include the following:

  • Overload on the information team – The requests and requirements for more applications never cease.
  • The outcome of the above – is more and more spreadsheets that replace managed information systems spread in the organization, which means data is stored in many places and used in many versions.
  • It is becoming more challenging to track all the organizational software – be it smaller spreadsheets or task management software, project management, resource management, CRM and CRM extensions, and much more.
  • Data silos – which make it hard to share information and gain valuable insight from the available, priceless data we gather.
  • Security and access – It is hard to know who has permissions where and what login they use
  • Costs – who is paying for what software, and how many teams are signing up for the same solutions?
  • Obsolete software – traditional software, by the time the specifications are ready and implementation and development is complete – often does not cover all the required needs and processes.
  • Automations – many tasks such as signing documents, updating team members, communicating with external APIs, creating tasks, generating documents, and much more – are often done manually as automation software is missing or existing software is obsolete.

So how can Origami help?

Benefits of Using Low-Code Software for CIO

Origami is an enterprise-grade, no-code application platform. It allows the CIO, COO, and other process management team to create, update and release information systems tailored for the organization, change along with it as it evolves and provide users a fun, centralized environment to access their data, update progress, communicate and collaborate.

Origami allows the CIOs and their team to independently create any idea, funnel any process and manage data while easily integrating into other systems – or entirely replacing them in hours or days and at effective costs as expected from an advanced low code platform.

Here are five key benefits of using the Origami Low-Code Development Platform:

So what makes Origami unique and suitable for solving these problems?

Boost Your Business Agility

Most low-code applications struggle with 20K records and lose most functionality at 50K records per entity – Origami has no impact on performance, even at tens and hundreds of millions of records.

Rich functionality is offered with low code platforms, and projects can be completed in a relatively short time than they would require using traditional ways. Filling the gap between an app idea and a live app through visual UI assists app developers in bringing products to the market even more quickly and with much less hassle.

Quick Change Application

Create and introduce tactical or strategic cross-department applications for teams in hours and days.

Businesses can now fulfill customer demand thanks to low code alternatives, significantly reducing time spent and expenses. With the low code platforms, developers can quickly integrate any modification and increase an app’s functionality as it’s needed. This quick procedure helps companies give clients better experiences and provide better service.

Accurate Data Security and Privacy

CIOs require accurate workflow, tailored permissions, SSO enabled applications that do EXACTLY what they need and are expected to do at the entity, field, action, group, and any level – Origami grants you precisely this.

With rapid advancements, security is an essential and utmost concern to enterprises. The Origami platform offers a multilayered security system that you can count on to keep your enterprise’s most sensitive information safely secured while meeting all of your requirements. These protection layers have strict authentication and authorization mechanisms in place.

Integrations

Origami allows you to integrate into other applications and platforms codelessly. With a low-code platform like Origami, you enable non-experts to develop simultaneously at scale and free experts from routine work. Origami supports many use cases, like Business Automation, CRM, Equipment Maintenance, Facilities Management, HR Management, Management Systems, Medical Practice, Project Management, and more…

Cost Savings

No more risky mega-projects – create entire applications internally or with our or one of our many partners’ support – in a fast and affordable manner.

It merges digital demands & lessens organizational effort as a cost-effective replacement for traditional coding. No or low-cost platforms enable businesses to automate & streamline their business operations by creating enterprise-level apps without requiring the same amount of work as traditional coding.

Dynamic

Many times suitable applications lose relevancy as the organization changes. Origami makes adaptive applications that, instead of hindering organizational development – change the information systems into the driving force behind ongoing improvement and optimization.

Conclusion

There is a vast potential for forward-thinking Chief Information Officers to redefine how they lead and engage with their businesses as we go towards a culture where the lines between simple terms such as Information Technology and Business are sometimes confusing. In addition to being a crucial component of increased productivity, Origami is the fastest route there.

The correct technology may deliver tangible benefits to your business. The switch to these platforms can empower CIOs to revitalize their company and influence curve. Knowing these advantages will help you persuade your CIOs that Low Code platforms are exactly the technology they’re searching for.

FAQs

How Low Code Helps CIOs to Accelerate the Digital Transformation?

While implementing digital transformation is a complete process, solutions are urgently necessary given the current business obstacles. No organization can spend months developing just one small solution. Executives are already stressed to provide prompt responses and make decisions immediately.

Platforms requiring low code are indeed the answer to CIOs’ requirement for help that addresses their problems without adding unnecessary risks or expenses. They are fast, economical, and efficient.

Why is Low Code Software Increasingly Famous Among CIOs?

5 Questions To Ask Before Partnering With An eQMS Solution Provider

5 Questions To Ask Before Partnering With An eQMS Solution Provider

When you pick the wrong electronic Quality Management System (eQMS), it not only wastes your money and frustrates your teams, you may impact customers through inefficiency and low product quality. Therefore, choosing the right eQMS can help you receive all the advantages for your product and for your stakeholders.

An internal meeting is crucial before arriving at a demo of your chosen software company. You have to make sure that the vendor and design that you select can best meet the requirements of your enterprise. We suggest the following points when evaluating an eQMS:

  • 1. What are my organization’s automation priorities?

When you define your eQMS requirements, think about which processes bring about benefit when automated. Often, organizations reap the reward when automating documented information CAPA and non-conformance and audit processes. We further advise to ask eQMS providers how flexible their systems are, when it comes to introducing automation of your processes. At Origami.ms, our customers choose which processes to automate, and promptly demonstrate return on investment (ROI).

  • 2. How easy is it for different departments to set up their processes?

After considering the needs of departments in your organization that will be interacting with the eQMS, you can put together a constructive forum to gather all departments’ inputs and requirements. A no-code platform will allow for seniors in different departments to modify and customize the work processes on the management system – themselves! All thanks to a user-friendly drag and drop interface.

  • 3. How quickly will the eQMS add value? There’s two common eQMS stakeholders that we encounter. The first group wants a pre-configured eQMS, and the second group wants an easy to configure platform that will be tailored to existing processes with a few clicks, in just a few minutes. If your teams want a pre-configured system, Origami ships with common fields on every record, ready to use from the day you decide to work with us.  If your teams want to modify Origami.ms, our system includes incredibly friendly configuration capabilities, to update forms within seconds. The longest part of updating is deciding which fields to add or edit! Make sure you get a live demonstration of how the eQMS is configured, so you can select the right provider now and into the future.
  • 4. How affordable is the eQMS

If your company is deciding whether to hire more people, bring in consultants, or defer other projects because people are spending so much time maintaining your manual quality processes, you need to implement an eQMS. As your company adds new products or scales, you evaluate where to spend money. By implementing an eQMS, your company does more with existing resources, multiplying the benefit of the eQMS over time. For example, automating documented information processes can mitigate the costs of hiring resources on every team, or of losing valuable time of your existing people, spent on manually updating and distributing documentation. At Origami.ms, our philosophy is that the best system in the world should be affordable to every company. We are proud to be the most affordable solution on the market. Our history as a startup, is to empower other fellow startups. We remove financial objections from your purchase decision, and focus on building long term partnerships with our customers. Many of our new customers worked with our product at previous organizations, and confidently introduce us when they move employers, the ultimate in positive referrals and the network effect.

  • 5. What are the out of the box compliance features and credentials of the eQMS solution provider?

If your organization is in a highly regulated industry such as medical devices, your eQMS provider must provide features and change management processes that your company leverages. Origami is 21 CFR Part 11 compliant and ISO 9001 and 27001 certified as well as ready for the EU MDR. Core of Origami system is pre-validated and comes with all the validation documents. Ask any eQMS provider how their system ensures compliance, and at what cost?

Bottom Line

Origami.ms is a very agile and scalable platform to build the enterprise-level custom information management system by the simple drag and drop fields. You can drive synergy throughout your organization with the help of Origami, as it offers eQMS connected with CRM. Therefore, you will be able to ensure quality awareness as well as supervise internal and external stakeholder.

When looking for an eQMS solution, you have to make sure that you got the right end-users representative involved so that the selection of a successful system is adopted. The experts in your organization can evaluate the type of system that you can support in-house. It can undoubtedly be of great help to get guidance from external consultants to help you find the best solution.

Auditing System

Auditing System

The best eQMS answer the question of how various audits add value, by preventing costly problems from occurring, and mitigating supplier business risk.

Let’s start by reviewing the types of audits, or checks, that your company may perform.

  1. You are likely performing internal process audits as part of your plan – do – check – act quality management system activities.
  2. Your company tracks the results of registrar audits of your internal management system.
  3. When a supplier is (re)qualifying to do business with your company, it’s common for them to complete a self-assessment. Your company’s stakeholders evaluate risk from financial stability, legal compliance, governance, location, quality, security and other business perspectives.
  4. Perhaps your company further assesses supplier risk with an onsite audit (or a remote audit during Covid). Onsite audits are common if you outsource manufacturing and white label finished products for sale, or if you have a high risk supplier.
  5. Your company may inspect shipments received from suppliers.
  6. Your company may test materials, semi-finished or finished goods received from suppliers

Working back from the question of value, we have at least 3 correlations we can make:

Are our internal processes being followed?

  • An eQMS audit solution should accommodate at least the following:
    • All processes are mapped to internal audits
    • Internal audits are performed by different individuals on different dates
    • It’s easy to determine which processes have been audited and which have not
    • Internal and registrar audit results can be interpreted by anyone
    • It’s easy to determine when processes haven’t been followed, through findings
    • The reasons why processes have not been followed are discovered and captured in root cause analysis functionality
    • All corrective actions are tracked to closure
    • Internal and registrar audit results are summarized and improvement goals are set and assessed during management review meetings

Are we effectively determining supplier risk?

  • An eQMS audit solution should support at least the following:
    • Linking self-assessments, onsite audits, goods inspections and test results, to a single supplier
    • Creating a supplier risk view for review at management review meetings and by other stakeholders

Do our processes adequately capture supplier risk?

  • Do supplier self-assessments reflect actual supplier quality issues captured from shipping inspections and goods testing

Creating and managing audit or assessment questions and scoring results are standard in eQMS solutions these days.

Leading eQMS solutions like Origami, add value by easily correlating outcomes of audits, to give you and decision makers insight about supplier risk, your internal processes, in order to continually improve.

Origami 5.6.2

Origami 5.6.2

We are pleased to announce the release of Origami 5.6.2, launched March 2nd, 2023.

Here’s what you can now do:

  • Use dynamic fields from the entity in the “Display User Message” action.
  • We added action buttons to the calendar view 📅 so now you can add a button to the calendar and when clicked, send the date range in the user’s view at the moment of clicking. This means that if the user is looking at a weekly view, when the button is clicked, Origami will allow sending that start and end date along side the rest of the parameters sent. This is mostly relevant to external calls and opening a new window actions. However, you will also be able to use that for general buttons that don’t require picking specific instances from the view.
  • Permissions management and reporting!
Although you already have macro and micro management options for the permission in Origami, on this version, we’ve also allocated a space for the permissions in the entire account. You will be able to see and edit the permissions for each entity, as well as it’s field groups, and specific fields. You will also be able to export those permissions to an excel report, specifying all those permissions. These appear under the system settings.
  • We’ve upgraded our cron servers to enable a more scalable response to loads. This will come in handy in the next few weeks – stay tuned! 🤩🤩🤩

Bugs that were fixed in this release:

  • We added validation messages to our error pop up on the workflow screen, so that now instead of getting a “true” message, the admin user will see the validation error preventing from creating or saving the workflow.
  • Importing to free multi select fields was fixed.
  • The responsiveness of the docs and forms feature was improved for mobile devices.
